From curious kids aged 5 to 105, The Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring welcomes families of all ages to explore a wide variety of hands-on illusions and mind-bending exhibits.

We have endless fun waiting for you right in the heart of York! Young children 4 and under  enter free (though they still require a booked ticket), while children aged 5 to 15 can enjoy the attraction for just £8.99.

Practical Information for Families

Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult (aged 16 or over)
Buggies are welcome in most areas, but on busy days we may ask you to leave your buggy in our Gift Shop for the duration of your visit to keep walkways clear
If you prefer not to push your buggy around, just ask a team member, we’re happy to store it safely in the Gift Shop
Baby changing facilities are available in our accessible toilet near the Head Havoc Parlour

Family Pricing and Seasonal Fun

We appreciate that every family is different, so rather than offering a standard family ticket, we keep our pricing straightforward and fair for all visitors.

Throughout the year, we host a variety of special seasonal events and activities, from Easter and Halloween trails to festive decorations at Christmas and celebrations for New Year and summer. These events are included with admission and provide plenty of reasons to visit again and again.

Comfort and Care for Families

Pregnant visitors are warmly welcome to enjoy the attraction at their own pace, there’s no time limit on your visit, and seating is available throughout the venue for your comfort.

Please be aware that some illusions involve moving images, patterns, and mirror effects, which may cause motion sensitivity in some guests.

We’re proud to support breastfeeding families. While we don’t have a dedicated feeding room, our team will gladly direct you to quiet seating areas and can provide water to help you and your little one stay comfortable during your visit.
