Meet the Curators of Curiosity

DAN
Hi there I’m Dan. This award winning actor, working on an award winning ghost tour brings those award winning qualities to the professors! As the life, soul and looks of the team, is there anything this warm and kind hearted actor/artist/comedian/writer/voice over artist/genius and chef can't do?! Yes! Diet... To be fair eating is my main hobby. Can eating be a hobby? Don't care it is now. What gives me the most enjoyment is letting our guests know the background of Professor Kettlestring as they first enter our attraction and telling the stories about the myth and legend that is the Prof!
LUCY
I'm Lucy. I studied tourism at college and in the past have owned and run a pub, worked in high end retail and in tourism. In my spare time I enjoy live music and comedy gigs with my partner. I love explaining how all the puzzling inventions work and helping our guests get their heads round all the optical illusions.
MATTHEW
Hi, I’m Matthew, York born and bred, with a background in retail management for luxury products. I’ve always enjoyed working in places that offer something fun and a little bit different.
I live just outside the city with my partner and our two young boys, who keep life entertaining (and occasionally chaotic). My favourite part of the Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring is The Paradoxical Sideways Suite, its perfect for funny, mind-bending photo opportunities. It still makes me laugh seeing the photos people come up with.
Outside of work, I’m usually watching football and rugby, chasing after the kids, or enjoying a pint somewhere local.
MCKINLEY
I’m McKinley, I’m originally from California but I moved to York in September of 2020 to pursue my masters degree in Human Rights. I stuck around afterwards and found myself working in tourism, which is how I ended up as the assistant manager at the Puzzling World of Professor Kettlestring. When I’m not working you can find me at home reading or playing video games or off traveling with my partner. My favourite of the Professor Kettlestring’s is The Parabolic Salutation Machine as I wish I could shake the Professor’s hand and thank him for his creative and inventive mind.
ROSE
Hi I’m Rose a university student studying English Literature and Creative Writing, hoping to do my masters in Creative Writing and Publishing! I’ve lived in York for two years now but I’m originally from Leicestershire. In my spare time I love writing and reading fantasy, as well as collecting music and going to live gigs. Being a curator we get to meet so many guests and I enjoy seeing families in The Perception Perturber Room when the children appear taller than their parents, the look on their faces is amazing!
TOM
Greetings wayward internet surfer, my name is Tom! Having been a student of the sciences before graduating just in time for a certain global shut down, a varied (if not entirely planned) career has led me to the appropriately chaotic puzzling world. Away from the professor's inventions I enjoy watching people drive in circles, going down hills faster than you should on a bicycle, inefficiently splashing along the waterways in a kayak, falling down hills in the lakes or alternatively just being a general nerd at home.
The best part of being a curator is laughing with customers when they see their photos and how the Professor’s inventions can make them look like they are doing extraordinary things.
